Fecal occult blood: The color may not indicate blood. This is tested with an occult blood smear in the doctors office. Color does not always mean blood. Food especially dark green vegtables can sometimes appear blackish when eliminated. See a doctor in person for a fecal occult test. Test takes small amount of poo and puts it on a card. It is stained with reagent and tells if blood in stool.
