I've had a cough for 2 months. it started really dry and now it's grating and phlemy. i can't afford to go to a doctor if not essential. do i go?

Consultation: Will be needed here unfortunately. Need to work out whether simply a postviral cough, whether you have an ongoing chest infection, or reflux or something that could be more concerning if left undiagnosed such as asthma. Ideally do need to see a doctor as need examination but if breathing is ok could save up for a week or 2. Also do ask - some GPs will make compassionate exceptions to fees.

Find the money: Yes, you should see a Dr about this. It is not normal to have a cough for 2 months. It can be expensive to see doctors in NZ sometimes but your health is worth it.
