How elevated?: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, elevated white cells is not a diagnosis. The cause of elevated white cells needs to be treated. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be additional tests.
