Not really: These conditions can overlap or can be separate entities that involve hives. The immune cells that release histamine and other mediators that promote hives are triggered by non-allergic triggers (mechanical disruption of the skin or by heat, respectively). Thus, it is allergy in the sense that experts in understanding this part of the immune system treat these conditions, but no allergic antibody
