Fatty liver: Is a common complication of diabetes and/or thyroid disease. Best to address it is to keep tight control of both as well as staying fit. Avoidance of alcohol and specific over the counter drugs and supplements is also important as some cases are not related to metabolic disorders.

What you can do?: The doing will have to be on your part. You need to lose weight and follow your doctor's advice about thyroid medication, and control of blood sugar. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
