A member asked:

I burned my face with bp and it caused redness on my face. after it healed, the skin is darker and the texture is different (reflects light instead of smooth). is my skin permanently damaged or will it return to as before?

Chemical injury: I'm not sure what BP might be, but change in color (darker or lighter) is common after a skin injury - whether a scrape, burn or pressure. Younger individuals will tend to heal over time and the skin regain its appearance. It also depends on the depth of the injury and the size of the area. Talk to your doctor. Good luck.
