Wouldn't think so: Most patients are placed NPO, or in a nothing by mouth (including meds) for 6-12 hours before any such procedure. That's so the stomach will be empty if they need to place an airway. Stuff in the stomach could end up in the lungs. Don't do it without first clearing it with the anesthesia person.
