Should be OK: Allegra is a second generation antihistamine, which typically are less likely to cause drowsiness. Insomnia can be a side effect of the medication, but is very rare. There shouldn't be any reason why you can't take it at night unless it continues to keep you up and interferes with your sleep.

Allegra at night.: Technically, you can, as it is neither a sedating antihistamine nor a stimulant. If you took Allegra D, on the other hand, then you would have taken a stimulant before bed which would’ve kept you up. Check the packaging and make sure you’re not taking Allegra D. Otherwise, perhaps your lack of sleep was due to something else.
