Photophobia: Headache with intolerance to light is not unusual. Accompanying eye soreness raises the suspicion of eye dryness. An ophthalmologist can advise you best, however.

Likely a migraine: this sounds like a possible migraine headache which typically involve one side of the head/eye, worsen with loud noises or bright lights, and also may occur after an "aura". An aura is usually a smell or a sight that is a tip off to the patient that a migraine is about to start.

Headache.: A unilateral headache of this description could be consistent with migraine or cluster headache. Could be one-sided sinus issue as well. However, if this is new then investigations are recommended - blood testing and MRI of the brain - to be sure it's nothing else. The clinical descriptions of headaches are usually reliable, but testing boosts the diagnostic confidence.
