Can be perpetuated by sweat and irritation so foreskin hygiene and also wearing things like cotton rather than synthetic underwear may help reduce frequency of attacks. Possible: fungal infection, friction from intercourse or oral sex, tight fitting underwear or outer clothing.Circumcision does prevent an accumulation of smegma , seen in an uncircumcised penis. Good personal hygiene, including changing cotton undergarments twice daily will help. I would seek medical attention if this is a recurring issue.
