A member asked:

Intermittent upper left arm pain, dull and achy. at times spreading down the arm, and with a more severe intensity. lasting approximately 1 week. no recent injury to the arm. lightheaded, palpitations, mild chest discomfort, headache. anxiety?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Left arm pain: could very well be anxiety but has to be checked oiut from a cardiac standpt. Women do not have the classic pains associated with angina when they are in the forties and above, is there a family history of heart disease? if yes, the cardiac workup is even more important. good luck and feel better.
