When is heavy bleeding during your period something you should get checked? i always have very heavy bleeding the 2nd and 3rd day of my period. today i soaked through a super plus tampon in 3.5 hours. however after day 2 or 3 my period is lighter.

Menstruation: Heavy bleeding at the start of your period is normal and tapers off over the next few days. If you are soaking 4 or 5 pads/tampons, that is a heavy flow. Most of the time your body will compensate and it isn't a problem. Your doctor can check to see if heavy flow is causing anemia.
