Better: to retire early and rise early, and keep your and his privacy

Time to teach: One of the primary roles for parents is teaching about personal space & boundaries. By 6 a kid is well into an understanding of normal body hygiene & need for bathing. It is well past time for you to model self sufficiency in these functions and a need to do it alone. Share meals & playtime together, not shower & potty breaks.

Bonding?: When I was on athletic teams and in the army group showers were routine, but not with children. But putting out the campfire or marking our territory in the forest or writing our names in the snow was a group activity enjoyed by all ages. Relax and help your son also relax about normal biologic functions and anatomy. As long as it is not sexual it is very normal and healthy.
