Were there many: epithelial cells? > 5-10 WBC in a clean specimin may indicate a UTI. Per MedScape- "Nearly all (≥ 96%) patients with UTI have pyuria equivalent to > 10 WBC/hpf." REF: http://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/436592_3 Other tests can be done to help confirm infection.
