Shint Splints : "shin splint" cause pain in the front lower leg and more common in runners. Medial tibial stress syndrome (mtss), stress fractures, or compartment syndrome can also cause pain in this area. Correct diagnosis will dictate type of therapy needed. Treatments usually consist of rest, stretching, ice, pt. Orthortics can be effective depending on what the exam shows.
