I was prescribed proparacaine for severe eye pain due to a corneal ulcer. how long should it be used for? seven days seems too long

Not standard of care: A prescription for proparicaine is not the standard of care for a corneal ulcer as it may mask your pain and your ulcer may progress potentially to the point of blindness. Antibiotic drops and/or ointment should clear the ulcer with cloae folllow up.

Corneal ulcer: Seven days is not too long as long as you still have pain .Try extending the periods between putting in the drops. That will determine how you are improving
