This is serious: A workup to find the cause of your anemia should have begun when your hemoglobin was found to be 11. There are lots of causes of anemia. The cause needs to be found. For example, I wouldn't want your bleeding stomach ulcer to be recognized only after massive bleeding has led to a trip to the operating room.
