You may: be describing a sub-patella BURSITIS (also called "housemaid's knee" (from washing floors on the hands and knees a VERY VERY OLD job description!!!!) In any case a "Hands On" examination is necessary! Meantime apply ICE and ELEVATE! Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
