A member asked:

Does long hair make you shorter? they say hair eat up your nutrition. the longer the hair, the more nutritions it take. is it true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Myth: Hi Having long hair is not known to make people shorter. Once hair is grows, it is metabolically inactive. Hair grows at the rate of roughly 0.5 to 1 inch per month and is made up of a protein called keratin. It works the other way around. If you eat more protein, there is a tendency for your hair to grow a little faster. If you eat less or become malnourished, hair grows slower. Hope this helps
