A member asked:

I received blood results that indicate high protein (8.6) and globulin (4.1) what might this indicate, does it warrant further testing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Check reference rang: The report that you have received will have a reference range of normal levels for Globulins. if your level is high, then it should be further followed with a test called Serum Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). This test will show if your globulins are normal or abnormal, the latter can mean that you are producing abnormal globulins, needing further examination by a blood specialist(Hematologist)
