Sores: Depends on which microorganism is causing your symptoms. Please see your Dentist for an evaluation and for the correct course of treatment. Sometimes there are OTC products that can help, sometimes a prescription medication is required.

Infection: It is likely that you may have an infection in your gum or ear and the lymph nodes would possibly be inflamed as well. The sores could be aphthous ulcers which are primarily seen during viral illnesses. It is also difficult to rule Herpes or Oral thrush without doing a proper examination. See a doctor who can examine you and then treat you accordingly
