It is never 100% safe to consume vaginal secretions from a person with genital herpes because the viruses come and go, even without an obvious outbreak. "Never had an outbreak" makes one wonder how she knows she actually has genital herpes. It may be helpful to test both person's antibodies to HSV1 and HSV2 with a HerpeSelect lab test.
