Pediatrician: visit is necessary here. Most likely your child suffers from reflux, where food is returning into the esophagus from the stomach after eating. This can trigger a cough reflex. However, depending on her age and severity of her symptoms, she might have a more serious cause such as aspiration into her lungs while swallowing. See your pediatrician for a history, exam, and possible testing!
