Trust your doctor: as why would you have avascular necrosis of your hip joint at your age, unless you have a risk factor, and hip pain can occur without having AVN. You can have a second opinion if you wish, it's your right, follow doctor's advice and keep the follow up, you will be fine, wish you all the best

Fovea: The fovea is often seen on xray of the hip joint and looks like a "dent"/depressed area. This should not be painful. However, sometimes xrays do not show early stages of AVN. If pain persists, make another appointment or request an MRI.
