Depends: If you want to stop the bleeding sooner I would start taking them right away. BC pills do have side effects of spotting. Unsure if waiting a week would move your period back a week. There are continuous birth control pills if you want to turn it off completely for several months. All depends on your individual hormones, and fertility desires.
