Dark neck skin: Dark discoloration on neck skin could be from eczema, sun exposure, some inflammatory skin conditions or acanthosis nigricans. Acanthosis nigricans has a velvetty slightly thickened texture compared to normal skin. Neck and underarms are common places. It is associated with Insulin resistance, diabetes, being overweight. There are treatments for these conditions. Please see your dermatologist.
