A member asked:

Hello dr. , i am a final year medical student and i recently got to know that i am hbsag positive.

Interesting...: Med students, nursing students, dental students all need their serologies (blood tests) done before starting their schooling. If HBsAb is negative, vaccines are given to prevent them from catching HepB. If HBsAg is positive (person has HepB virus), more blood tests are done to see what the person's true status is. If truly infected, then treatment is available. Enjoy the last year of med school!
