Anytime i've gotten iv contrast for an imagining scan, as soon as it goes in i get warm and then throw up. what's causing this reaction?

Allergic reaction: Some people get an allergic reaction to the contrast media. This can be minimized by using benadryl prior to getting the contrast. The technician should be made aware of any potential allergy before they inject the contrast

RCM reaction: Radio Contrast Media reaction, some people do suffer when IV contrast media are used, especially the high molecular weight type, so kindly tell your ordering physician(s) /radiologists that you do suffer and get a reaction: either low molecular weight substance would be used or a protocol of premeditations given at least 13, 7, and 1 hours before injection, refer to an allergist for consultation
