A member asked:

My periods got 6 days late. on 6th day i got urine test positive but qualitative blood test came negative. can i still be pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy unlikely: Pregnancy unlikely, but can repeat home test 1 time next week if still worried. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have been), or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon. If a woman gets her normal regular period, then she is not pregnant.
