My throat has recently been acting up , every time i swallow it feels like something is there when it's not and also my uvula has gotten a red spot .

Uvula swelling: Globus sensation has many possible causes - including Uvulitis. Swelling of the uvula from viral infection is common (as well as swelling from sleep apnea and certain medications). Globus sensation can also be related to GI reflux, tonsil problems, pharyngitis just to name a few other issues. If not improved over a week of symptoms further evaluation is advisable.
