Mucous: Perhaps you have a mild allergy and mucous is thick and needs to be spit up. Or you might have exudate from the tonsils. These are harmless white yellow balls of hard material that break off and are coughed up or swallowed. Likely one of these two benign conditions is what you may be feeling.
