Metamucil: takes a while to "work" and the amount of time varies. Since you have a "motility" problem (constipation) it may take a week or more to help! In the meantime DRINK LOTS OF FLUIDS!!!! Metamucil will not help without fluids in the gut! Hope this helps! Dr Z
