Lac 5, cerave: Lac 5 and cerave are options. There are also prescription barrier repair creams such as eletone and hylatopic ointment or cream. The addition of esssential fatty acids to the diet such as flaxseed oil or borage oil can be helpful.

Lotion and Itch: A dermatologist can give you a good answer so please consider seeing one. Beyond that, you can avoid the lotion you are using and try a hypoallergenic one. Please avoid any lotion w/alcohol in it because it will dry the skin.

Itchy skin after: shower and lotion may be from the lotion or from the soap or product used to shower, or just from very dry skin. You do not indicate if you have itching after the shower without application of lotion, so important to assess. Do you otherwise have normal skin or eczema? Hot water in itself can cause itching. Try Vaseline, Eucerin original cream, Cereva cream or Aquaphor.
