A member asked:

Mild pain near anus while urinating. no pain during bowel movements. have had extra skin growth near anus for more than 10 years, no change in skin growth. only mild prickly pain when urinating. what could be causing it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Skin tags: These sound like harmless anal skin tags. Discomfort on urination in the perirectal area may be muscular, but urinalysis and culture should be done to look for urinary tract infection. Examination by a gynecologist or urologist is advisable if symptoms persist or worsen.
