Possible...: A diagnosis of bronchitis is usually a clinical one, in that you go by symptoms rather than identifying an organism, such as a bacteria or virus. Both can be contagious. The symptoms your daughter has could be related, or she picked up a totally different virus. For now, as long as she is doing ok (no difficulty breathing, eating and drinking ok, no high fevers), you can wait. Otherwise, visit doc.

Bronchitis is...: ...Almost always viral. This means antibiotics don't help and are usually inappropriate. Yes, it's contagious and you and your daughter can get infected too, though you might not have exactly the same symptoms.
