Possible, not likely: Such a change could happen, but usually does not. Once a pattern of recurrent herpes is established, subsequent outbreaks usually are in pretty much the same location, give or take an inch or so. The pattern (no. of lesions, clustered, etc) and response to anti-HSV treatment (e.g. acyclovir) can help sort it out. Or see a doctor (or NHS GUM clinic) for the next pubic area outbreak. Good luck!
