Sounds reasonable.: It sounds as though the toes are #2, #3 and #4 may be involved. Either a single nerve or possibly a second could be the culprit(s). Doing a nerve block might help with the identification.

Tarsal tunnel synd.: There are several possibilities, it sounds like you could be describing tarsal tunnel syndrome, which is a pinching of a nerve in the medial aspect of the ankle. I would not hesitate to be seen for it as there are good treatment options available.
