Could be tumor: Treatment is usually RT/Chemo followed by resection lower 1/3 esoph. Frequently repeat trans esophageal ultrasound shows complete absence of any residual mucosal tumor. At times residual tumor cells only present in submucosa of remaining esoph and this is the most common cause of recurrence. This exam must be repeated along with PET/CAT
