Uvular edema: This can occur with a viral or bacterial throat infection or some trauma to the area. Snoring at night with vibration of the throat tissues can cause this to swell. It is not unusual for this to occur, especially after a night of drinking alcohol or taking some type of sedating antihistamine or other medication. You would have more throat relaxation and heavier snoring. See MD if persists.
