A member asked:

Is it possible to look very underweight but really be a normal weight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal is defined: The standards for normal weight are determined by studying healthy populations that vary in height, muscularity and bone structure and determining the norms. Your "look" is a subjective interpretation. There is quite a range or normal weights for height. For example, a 24 yo female at 5'4" can range from 108 to 145 lb and still be in the BMI range of 18.5-24.9 considered normal as an adult.
