A member asked:

Is clindamycin & zithromax in the same family?which 1 is more likely 2 cause thrush?is augmentin more likely to cause thrush over the aforementioned?

None/no: All three of these meds are from different antibiotic families. None "causes" thrush. Antibiotic use can kill off the benign bacteria that live on the surfaces of teeth/gums/throat & inside the intestines. Antibiotics do not kill the yeast that cause thrush, but if you kill off the benign bacteria in the mouth or intestines the yeast can move into vacated spaces & result in thrush.

Yes, but all can: cause thrush, and Clindamycin and zithromax aren't the same family
