Vibrio vulnificus: Vibrio vulnificus is a species of Gram-negative, motile, curved, rod-shaped (bacillus), pathogenic bacteria of the genus Vibrio. It is usually found worldwide in coastal or estuarine environments with water temperatures from 9 to 31 °C. The organism has the ability to evade destruction in highly acidic environments such as the stomach. It can potentially survive on a wet cloth.
