Ecchymosis: Lack of pain, itch or scab tend rule out an insect bite. It is more likely that in this thinly skinned area of the body a capillary(tiny blood vessel) spontaneously leaked some blood. This discoloration will resolve after a week or so. Taking aspirin or medications like Aleve increase likelihood of capillary fragility.
