Possible bat contact: Bats have small teeth that can sometimes make a bat bite difficult to find. Due to concern for rabies, if a bat has been in contact with a person or a pet, the bat needs to be captured and tested. Animal control or a wildlife conservation agency can help. If you have knowingly been bitten by a bat, then you should seek immediate medical attention to be treated with antibiotics for infection.

Well: What kind of contact are you thinking. Hearing them outside does not place you in danger. Just be sure not to touch any if you see them hanging anywhere. You can always contact the landlord and ask for inspection
