Not the typical: experience. Most studies suggest a modest (up to 10 pounds) weight GAIN with the use of Depo-Provera as well as a small increase in body fat. I really can't explain why you might experience weight loss. Is it possible that reduced anxiety about unwanted pregnancy could contribute to healthier eating and more exercise? A little far-fetched! As you say, you're not complaining..enjoy the unexpected!

Interesting!: Most people complain of weight gain with the depo or other progesterone treatment. Maybe the assurance that you are protected from pregnancy frees you from stress and worry, both known to cause emotional eating. Also, with depo, hormone levels stay flat, whereas with the pill or natural menstrual cycle, there is monthly fluctuation, which can mess with a person's metabolism.
