I have pain opening bottles, tins and pulling up zips etc. . the pain is a certain spot above the wrist on the thumb side . what could be the cause?

Thumb pain: May have de Quervains tenodsynovitis, a tendon inflammation from repetitive activities. Can try motrin if not allergic, ice 5 minute on -3-4 times a day, rest, kinesioptape, and thumb spica splint ( can get in pharmacy) Could also be ganglion cyst if bump, or arthritis , if trauma may be avulsion ( but usually more pain) Would follow up with urgent care / doc
