Mole grew to ~1mm over few months. derm wasn't worried at all. but over the year, i see some slight changes in color/shape, not size. concerning?

One mm is really: pretty tiny. When moles change is size that can be concerning . This is quite tiny to be fretting about a malignancy. We can't visualize your lesion =so the only person who can give you a proper assessment and diagnosis will be your dermatologist.
