Ulcers: H. Pylori is connected with damage to the stomach and duodenal mucus layer and ulcers as a result. You can be tested by your doctor. A breath test is preferred to see if you have a current infection. A blood test will only tell if you have ever had it even if it is gone now.

Admission to the ICU can result in stress-related ulceration within the first few days of hospitalization.
