All have adenoids: Adenoids are lymphoid tissue in the nose, like the tonsils in the mouth. They are nick-named nasal tonsils. They are normal part of the immune system. When they are inflamed and swollen, they can cause problems such as snoring, sinusitis and er infections. Allergic children are particularly prone to these complications.

See below: Adenoids & tonsils r part of the immune system; they enlarge to produce more wbc's to fight infections. If they become large enough to compromise the airway, they may be removed if antibiotics (for bacterial infection, not viral) don't reduce their size. Consult peds is son has recurrent infections.
