Depo: Return of fertility may take 10-18 months of discontinuing. Suppression of ovulation does not depend on duration of use. Keep monitoring your weight.

Temporary: Many women find it difficult to become pregnant when they first stop taking the depo. The effect on ovulation can continue to last for up to a year or more but is shorter in the majority. Sometimes people start taking the depo for gyanaecological reasons other than preventing pregnancy (eg endometriosis) and these other reasons may affect fertility.
